M62: From Leeds:

Leave Motorway at Junction 24 and follow road left staying in left hand lane to roundabout.

Take First exit, for Rochdale, A640 (to the left of large hotel) Follow this road for a further 2 miles, **on reaching another roundabout take the third exit (marked Outlane) A640, crossing over motorway

Through Outlane Village Centre and continue along A640 for approx 4 miles....re-crossing motorway until reaching signs for Scammonden Water.

Continue past the first sign for another 400 metres to brown sign (showing various activities) and take immediate right turn. Proceed downhill for a further 500 metres until reaching lake viewing point on the right and take the signposted left (Says Private Road for Activity Centre Huddersfield Scouts Sailing and Scammonden Sailing Club, Continue along this very narrow road... there are passing points.... for approx 1000 metres to single, signposted track to Sailing Club...very steep! There is a gate but this will be unlocked...please close after entering....Club entrance is 100metres further on, through gate directly to right of activity centre. Parking is to the Left and Right of main path that leads to Boat parking areas. If this area if full, there is overspill car parking below the activity centre tennis court, accessed by driving around and below centre.

M62: From Manchester:

As above from ** if leaving at junction 23 (but take fourth exit marked Rochdale......Outlane A640)

From junction 22:

Follow signs for Saddleworth Moor (A672) until reaching junction on left For Huddersfield (A640) turn here and continue for approx 6 to 7 miles (Spectacular Views over top of Pennines) until reaching, above mentioned brown activity sign on right hand side of road. Turn left here and follow directions as above.
