Two
Scammonden members decided to sail slightly further away from the club this
weekend....and next.....Nick Turley and
Soeren Vonsild have
entered two Finn competitions, one in New Orleans (the Mardi Gras Reggata) and
the other in Fairhope
Alabama (The USA Finn Masters). The pair travelled to the Southern States with their wives and took along West Riding member Mick Woodhead, as a Finn guru........ the results of the Mardi Gras weekend have already been posted by the host club....http://noyc.org/rc/2009mgrresultsday1.htm.....Soeren (GBR161) click thumbnail, appears to be able to sail anything from a yacht to his grannies sideboard (an Ent)...his words not mine, and posted an excellent series of results, with Nick sailing the fIrst race into 21st position......not bad going in unfamiliar surroundings and hired or borrowed boats......................and now results from USA Finn Masters............http://www.fairhopeyachtclub.com/Regattas/FinnNAMasters09/Finn_Masters.htm
