SWSC now has a social committee………

Who’s on it?

Laura Eaglen, Sue Lamb, Sue Hiscoe, Linda Merriman, Julie Archer

What do we do?

• Coordinate larger groups of volunteers to provide food and social events.
• Create rotas for events that need food. Mainly, Snowball series, Open events, Start up party, Christmas party. Possibly barbeques in summer.
• Organise Summer Ball and Dinner Dance.
• Advertise social events through post/Telltales/posters/website.
• Organise entertainment for socials.

When?

We usually meet in the bar after sailing, the rest by phone and email. We hope to keep meetings to a minimum but we’ll get together outside of that if we need to.

What can you do to help?

• Join the Social Committee

• Volunteer to help with food at socials
• Make cake/pudding/trifles/buns for parties (donations from friends and relatives also welcome)
• Donate raffle prizes - got any unwanted Xmas chocs? (Is there such a thing as unwanted chocolate?!!)
• Let us know your happy to be asked to help out

We hope to work on the basis that if lots of people do a little bit, we’ll all benefit and we promise not to leave you in the Galley on your own!!

DATES FOR YOUR DIARY

02.03.08 – Start Up Party 2.00pm onwards. There will be some sailing before the party.

12.04.08 – Saturday Club Returns!

21.06.08 – Summer Ball at Elland Cricket Club

22.11.08 – Annual Dinner Dance
